Alan is a trusted financial executive with a strategic outlook and detailed operational approach to business. He has a proven track record supporting the financial and operational needs of growing life sciences and technology companies.
Alan began his career as a CPA with Pricewaterhouse Coopers. As a partner in the Firm’s Dallas and Tokyo offices his responsibilities included such leadership roles as Mergers Acquisitions Practice Leader for the Southwest Region and Partner-in-Charge of the Foreign Financial Services practice for Japan.
After completing seventeen years in public accounting, Alan served as the full-time CFO of various venture-backed life sciences and technology companies in New England including Ergo Science, Medical Foods, MyWay.com, Innovative Chain, Omnisonics Medical and BioTrove. As CFO he provided financial management as well as partnered with the CEO, executive team, and board of directors in strategic business planning and creatively addressing a broad range of business and operating challenges.
Alan founded the Prestar Group in 2005 to provide highly experienced part-time CFO and financial advisory consulting services to early stage life sciences, technology and SaaS companies during the critical period before a full-time permanent finance executive is on board. The Prestar Group offers a balance of hands-on “get the job done” CFO assistance with insightful strategic input developed from many years of senior level domestic and international business advisory experience.
