Alan T. Barber is founder and Managing Director of the Prestar Group. A seasoned financial executive, Alan has over 28 years of hands on financial and operating business experience with a proven record of integrity and results-oriented leadership.

Alan began his career as a CPA with Coopers & Lybrand. As a partner in Coopers Dallas and Tokyo offices his responsibilities included Mergers & Acquisitions Practice Leader for the Southwest Region and Partner-in-Charge of the Foreign Financial Services practice for Japan.

After completing seventeen years in public accounting, Alan spent twelve years as the CFO of various venture backed emerging life science and software companies. These included Ergo Science, Medical Foods, MyWay.com, Innovation Chain, Omnisonics Medical Technology, and BioTrove. In the role of CFO he successfully assisted companies in IPOs and private financings, mergers & acquisitions, strategic partnerships, business planning, systems installations and creatively solving a broad range of business and operating problems.

Alan received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Accounting from the Florida State University Rovetta College of Business. He resides in Concord, Massachusetts with his wife, Sandy, and two children, Erin and Davis.
